OFFICERS
OUR EXECUTIVE team
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Aldo Pourchet, DVM, PhD
Dr. Pourchet developed the oncolytic virus T-Stealth when a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Prof. Ian Mohr at NYU. This new immunotherapy, further developed by BeneVir Biopharm Inc., was acquired by Janssen Pharmaceuticals and started clinical trial phase 1 in March 2024 for the treatment of lung cancer. As an investigator at the Gene Therapy Program at Upenn, Dr Pourchet also led the pre-IND development of an AAV for neurodegenerative Batten disease, later acquired as RGX181 by RegenXBio. RGX181 clinical trial was initiated in 2023. The therapy is currently licensed to Tern Therapeutics. Previously, Dr. Pourchet was also co-founder and CSO of Delve Therapeutics, an oncolytic virus and synthetic biology company. He earned a degree in veterinary medicine and a PhD in virology and gene therapy.
Scientific Co-founder Chair, Scientific Advisory Board
Ian Mohr, PhD
Ian Mohr is a Professor of Microbiology at NYU School of Medicine. Professor Mohr developed the genetic backbone of the first oncolytic virus approved in the US and Europe, T-Vec/Imlygic, commercialized by Amgen. He is co-inventor of the immunotherapeutic, oncolytic virus T-Stealth and was scientific co-founder and SAB chair of Benevir Biopharm, a startup begun in 2011 that was acquired by Janssen Pharmaceuticals in 2018. In addition to his major scientific contributions to the fields of virology and oncolytic virus immunotherapy, Professor Mohr is an elected Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors . His research expertise continues to benefit Omios' next-generation oncolytic virus and Omios' virus-inspired drug discovery platform.
Chief Technology Officer
Anand Pai, PhD
Anand brings decades of experience in combining the power of computational methods of all kinds with high throughput biology experimentation. Previously, he was at Google X (Alphabet’s incubator) where he led multiple groups at the interface of experimental and computational biology. Most recently, he led the team that set up X’s first AI-guided therapeutic discovery lab by implementing the high-throughput assays that worked with AI models (such as large language models LLMs) for biologics discovery with particular focus on oncology. At UCSF, he pioneered the study of viruses such as HIV by combining computational models and engineering viral genomes. Anand’s Ph.D. in Bioengineering reflects his pursuits: combining computational models with engineering biological systems.
Chief Business Officer
Bruno Larida, MSc, MBA
Larida is a seasoned biomedical executive with over 25 years of international experience in subsidiary creation, marketing, manufacturing, and R&D leadership, particularly in immunology, infectious disease, and oncology. Known for driving revenue growth and market expansion, he excels in both upstream and downstream marketing, successfully launching and managing products across hardware, software, immunoassays, and molecular diagnostics. Bruno also teaches biomedical startup creation at IAE Aix-Marseille Graduate School of Management and Polytech Marseille Biomedical Engineering School. He offers expertise in cross-border expansion, regulatory compliance, and startup fundraising, making him a valued member of the team.
